This site is organized into sections designed to allow you either to go through the entire site or to open just the sections most important to you. Many pages will have links to sites that can add depth to your investigation. Also, on the blog pages you can review the comments of professionals and other parents and add your own insights and questions.
The Sources of Motivation section discusses several of the many ways that gifted students are motivated. It is a good starting point for looking at a specific child's motivational profile. Introductory information is provided on a number of topics on the pages in the Social/Emotional Factors section. There are plans to explore most of the topics more fully on a future site. The Other Factors section includes pages addressing concerns such as the impact of a student's perceptions of her environment. The Personal Cost page looks at how students make desisions about where to place academic accomplishment in their list of priorities. One of the pages in this section provides a brief introduction to academic and learning concerns.
A Planning Tool has been created to help organize your ideas and plans for your child. It can help you investigate how your child is motivated and use that information to collaborate with your child and teachers for accomplishment.
